the hofmeister kink

New York, NY

Decided to take a break from work to spend the weekend with a buddy in New York. We spent the majority of our time in Manhattan, but did venture up to the Bronx on Sunday for a Yankee game. Here's a little taste of what we saw.

I would advise against eating here. It had a nice layout and was very clean, but the food was pretty bland and overpriced. You can also see someone making use of one of the new Citi Bikes here.

It's really quite nice in Central Park. You can completely separate yourself from the noise and stress of the city here.

This picture was taken looking down Fifth Ave from around 59th street. If I remember correctly the Apple Store is the left.

Up until this point I was a little perturbed that we hadn't seen any cool cars. This being a 964 I believe.

Again, looking down Fifth Ave

I must say I was very surprised to see this. I did not realize that the NYPD were using Chevy Volts as police cruisers.

The New York Public Library, lions and all. This being on the corner of Fifth and 42 Street.

Finally some good stuff! Brand new RS5 on Fifth. I had not seen one in the flesh up until them. Apparently they started selling them in the states in the beginning of 2012.

Again, looking down Fifth Ave, this time from around 23rd Street.

NYC Taxi cab in the form of a Ford Transit van. I still don't understand why they are making that silly Nissan van into the next taxi for NY. I mean come on, a Nissan, as the NYC Taxi? This would have been a far better choice.

Seen here is the first prototype of the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe to hit the states. It was spotted right across from Penn Station actually. I believe it was the V8 version, and boy did it sound terrific.

The entrance to the Wall Street Subway. You can see this entrance still refers to the subway as the IRT.

Seeing as this is the Hofmeister Kink I suppose I should show a picture of at least one BMW. So here you go, an E46 M3.

Yankee Stadium as seen from afar.

You can't go to NY and not get a NYC pretzel.

This pretty much sums up the weather that weekend. It was over 90 and there was not a cloud in site.

It always amazes how they are able to get rid of all the garbage that is created in NY.
